Frankenstein, Bromden, Invisible Man, and now Dr. Kraft!

Dr. Heidi Squier Kraft, a clinical psychologist who was deployed to Iraq when her twins were only 15 months old, was on NPR talking about how she felt when she returned to the states after trying to repair the damages of war on men and women. She said she had severe post dramatic stress disorder and suffered from nightmares, intrusive images, and "a weird faraway sadness." She also said she knows she's cured now because she's written a book about her experiences. Although she did not know the impacts of writing it at the time, by the time she was done she felt like a totally different person. By documenting her trauma, she was able to eventually let go.
ohhh the power of reflecting and writing
